God’s Abundant Table

There is a hungering in the soul
that can be answered only by God.

Jesus pointed to the people of Israel in the wilderness.
They ate manna that fell from heaven as a miraculous gift;
but still they died.  (John 6:49)

“I am the living bread that comes down from heaven,” said Jesus,
“that a person may partake of it and not die.”  (John 6:51)

Even as we can be thankful for many material blessings,
we need above all the grace and promise of God
that come to us in Jesus Christ.
