God’s Word Is a Light

God reveals God’s presence and power to humanity in many ways . . . through the glory of nature, or through the inward witness of God’s Spirit.

But God speaks most clearly through the Scriptures.

The Bible is the product of countless storytellers, writers, and editors, with its sixty-six books coming together over a span of more than two thousand years.

Yet in the end it is one coherent story, culminating in the saving action of Jesus Christ – the story of the God who made us, who loves us, who calls us to faith and love, and who gives us an everlasting hope.

The Bible is an amazing book with one Author over it all – who will speak to us today, if we open our hearts to listen.

Sunday’s Scripture Readings:
Psalm 119:103–106
II Timothy 3:14–17
