Salty Believers

People would like to “make a difference” in the world.

But how can you make a difference if you are small and ordinary?

Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth.”  (Matthew 5:13)

Salt is small and ordinary.  When it is used on something it becomes invisible.  Yet it has a transformational effect.

You may seem tiny and invisible to the world as a whole; yet when you join in the Spirit of Christ, you become a part of transforming the world.

Likewise Jesus said, “You are the light of the world.”  (Matthew 5:14)

He also said, “I am the light of the world.”  (John 8:12)

We may feel that we are hardly qualified to be a “light of the world,” but we can bring light for others when we let the light of Christ shine through us.

So you can make a difference today, when you open yourself in faith to the empowerment of Christ – to become salt and light for the world.
