Crisis Counsels from the Scriptures #69

We are journeying this week in Crisis Counsels through two verses in the book of Isaiah –

The Lord is exalted; he lives on high, filling Zion with justice and righteousness. God will provide security during a lifetime: a source of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. Reverence for the Lord will be Zion’s treasure.

Isaiah 33:5–6

In the middle of these verses is the statement, “God will provide security during a lifetime.” Actually a more literal translation of the original Hebrew is “He will be the stability of your times.” Both renderings of the verse speak very much to the present day! We live in unstable times, when lasting security is elusive. The Scripture reminds us of where we will find a secure foundation for life. This why the Bible often speaks of God as a Rock! It is in God that we find lasting stability.
