Family of Faith

God works through all sorts of families, to enable new generations to have faith.

Sometimes God works through two devoted parents, like Joseph and Mary.

Sometimes God works through one believing parent, like Eunice, the mother of Timothy, who was raised by his mother in faith, and went on to become a key leader in the early church.

Sometimes God works through grandparents, like Lois, the grandmother of Timothy, who also played a key role in his faith development.

Sometimes God works through siblings, like Miriam, who acted decisively, under the guidance of her mother, to save her little baby brother, Moses.

Connecting all these families was a yet larger family – the family of God, the fellowship of all believers.  Today God works through the church, supporting parents and guiding children anew to grow in faith.

In God’s family, we have confidence that we are God’s children, and we have an eternal inheritance.
